Universities Invited to Submit Proposals for Entrepreneurship Education Grant Program
Deadline: December 12, 2003

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation (<a href="http://www.emkf.org/">http://www.emkf.org/</a>) has released the RFP for its 2003 Kauffman Collegiate Network (Kauffman Network) initiative, which is designed to build on the foundation’s experience with and success in supporting entrepreneurship endeavors with colleges and universities across the United States. Through the program, the Kauffman Foundation plans to expand its efforts to sustain entrepreneurship education as a campus-wide opportunity.

The program welcomes a variety of approaches designed to address needs at virtually every point in entrepreneurship education. Examples of the kinds of initiatives the program seeks to support include pilot projects that test new ideas and involve students and faculty from multiple disciplines; experiential learning for students and faculty through co- and extra-curricular activities; and entrepreneurship curriculum development for multiple academic units.

Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to a select number of four-year U.S. colleges and universities. Requested grant dollars must be matched 1:1. To qualify for consideration, proposals must be from a four-year college or university serving undergraduate and graduate students. Only one proposal per institution will be considered; however, the program encourages collaboration between academic units. Grants will be based on the strength of an institution’s plan and its proposed initiatives to provide students from all disciplines the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial skills and thinking.

Proposals must be submitted electronically. See the Kauffman Collegiate Network Web site for application procedures and to download the complete RFP.
