Philadelphia Arts Organizations Invited to Apply for Engage 2020 Innovation Grant Program
Deadline: December 1, 2009 (Letter of Intent)

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and the Philadelphia Foundation have announced the Engage 2020 Innovation Grant Program, a new grantmaking initiative designed to stimulate cultural engagement in the Philadelphia region.

Through the initiative, arts organizations will receive funding to design and implement programs that build on the findings of the alliance’s Research Into Action: Pathways to New Opportunities report as well as work toward the long-term goal of doubling Greater Philadelphia’s cultural participation by the year 2020. Projects can focus on innovation in product development, audience experience, marketing and communications, or new market development.

Applicant organizations must have 501(c)(3) status, be located in the Greater Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties), present artistic programs as the primary focus of their mission, have completed three full seasons of professional artistic programming for public audiences, and employ full-time paid professional staff.

Organizations may request a grant award of up to $75,000. Grant projects must begin no earlier than July 1, 2010, and be completed no later than October 31, 2011.

Attendance at one of the Engage 2020 Research & Innovation Grant Workshops by key project/marketing staff is required in order to be eligible to apply for a grant. Visit the program Web site for complete program information, eligibility restrictions, and workshop dates and registration.
