DIRECTOR, RETENTION INITIATIVES
The Director of Retention Initiatives directs Campus Philly’s programming aimed at increasing the number of college graduates who want to, and choose to, live in the region. Retention programming is focused in two core areas: 1) Providing students with the professional development, networking and internship experiences that allow them to chart a career path and build a professional network in Philadelphia via the Campus Philly Careers Program and 2) Making ‘lifestyle’ a more significant driver for students to stay in Philadelphia after graduation by acquainting them with the high quality of life in Philadelphia.

The Director, Retention Initiatives reports to the President and will receive support from Campus Philly program and operations staff.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

PROGRAM DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT:
• Accountable for the growth and development of the Campus Philly Retention programming and its strategic planning, goal setting and performance.
• Serve as a member of the organizations senior management team, participating in organizational strategic planning processes
• Participate in development and fundraising activities for retention programming;
• Represent the Campus Philly Careers program to internal and external audiences as a critical economic development strategy for the region;
• Monitor and track program impact through data analysis, surveys, and qualitative feedback;
• Other duties as appropriate to support Campus Philly’s mission.

CAMPUS PHILLY CAREER PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
• Direct the Campus Philly Career program and position www.campusphilly.org/careers as the region’s top destination for connecting regional students with employers
• Increase student internship and entry-level employment opportunities at small- and large-sized employers in the region by crafting a strategic outreach strategy, including
— Developing and managing direct relationships with regional companies (for-profit and non-profit)
— Facilitating partnerships with area employer associations and economic development organizations
• Direct online program for job and internship matching through regular marketing campaigns and special online events
• Develop and manage relationships with Campus Philly’s partner college career offices to promote Philadelphia-area student employment opportunities
• Produce career related events including internship fairs, career and graduate school fairs, Campus Philly Crawls, Summer Internship Programs for targeted demographics/industries, managing venue relations, employer participation, and targeted marketing outreach;
• Collaborate with Campus Philly departments to implement career programs, including marketing and college relations, development, events and media, and nonprofit engagement;

LIFESTYLE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:
• Produce self-guided and guided tours of regional neighborhoods for soon-to-be graduates to acquaint them with Philadelphia
• Direct and Produce and ‘Living In Philadelphia’ component to http://campusphilly.org that highlights the benefits of living in the region
• Develop a ‘Stay in Philadelphia’ marketing campaign for current students

PREFERRED SKILS AND ABILITIES:
• At least 5 years experience growing and directing programs
•Prior experience with event planning, marketing and fund-raising or sales a plus
• Skilled networker and relationship manager with strong interpersonal skills
• Creative and strategic thinker; flexible, adaptable and outcomes oriented
• Ability to plan and implement programs that support organizational goals
• Strong verbal (in-person and by telephone) and written (print and electronic) communications skills
• Ability to appropriately set and meet expectations with strong attention to detail
• Ability to balance work on an individual basis and as a part of a team
• Good team player, with a can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in as needed to help others
• Computer skills: All Microsoft Office applications, database management, online publishing a plus
• Willingness to think creatively and propose new ideas while maintaining a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to program implementation
•Bachelor’s degree required.
