SquashSmarts, Philadelphia’s only urban youth enrichment program utilizing Academic Tutoring and Squash Fitness Instruction, seeks an experienced individual to serve as its Director of Middle School Academics. SquashSmarts is an award-winning, dynamic and rapidly expanding after school program serving children in North and West Philadelphia. SquashSmarts’ mission is to provide high-impact and high-intensity Sports, Education, Community Service and Leadership opportunities for Philadelphia public middle and high school students in need. Director of Middle School Academics: This is a unique opportunity for a highly qualified man or woman with classroom experience and/or a passion for working with youth to work closely with the Program Director and Director of High School Academics to manage a year-round academic curriculum. The individual will be responsible for strengthening the program’s existing academic model and bringing new ideas to enhance this model. Candidates must have impeccable speaking, presentation, writing and interpersonal skills, must hold a BA/BS or equivalent international degree, and must be fluent in English. Strong interdisciplinary skills and additional course work in education, childhood development, social work, education or psychology preferred. Minimum Weekly Hours of Service: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-6:30 and either Friday or Saturday depending on the program calendar. No athletic experience is necessary.
