Director Of Marketing And Development, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County

Posted by Habitat for Humanity of Chester County on May 12, 2020

Habitat for Humanity of Chester County (HfHCC), a 501 (C) 3 organization and affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, provides affordable housing options for low-income families in need of decent, modest housing. Through homeownership, Habitat breaks the cycle of poverty, helping families who work and struggle with burdensome housing costs and poor, unsafe living conditions to achieve the strength, stability, and self-confidence that transforms all aspects of life.

HfHCC is significantly expanding its construction program and operations to new levels of achievement… building more homes, helping more families and having greater community impact. Paramount to this growth is the West Grove Housing Program, a 40-home townhouse project conducted in concert with USDA which will augment ongoing home construction in the Coatesville area. HfHCC has also begun to explore the next level of service to the community through Neighborhood Revitalization Programs and Home Rehabilitation.

HfHCC is expanding its programs and services to address this dramatic growth, including a major expansion of the scope, reach and impact of its Development Program and Marketing activities. The Director of Development & Marketing, a newly created position, will work closely with the Executive Director to provide leadership for planning, management and implementation of a Comprehensive Development and Marketing Program. This professional will work directly with the Board, community leaders, volunteers and philanthropists to build the donor base, secure major gifts, and expand the capacity of HfHCC to reach new sources of funds to advance the mission and strengthen the position of HfHCC in the general and philanthropic community.

Position Objective:

The primary function of the Director of Development & Marketing is the advancement of the Mission and effective positioning of Habitat for Humanity of Chester County (HfHCC) to the general and philanthropic community.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Planning and implementation of a Comprehensive Development Program including the management of a $5,000,000 campaign and major gift program, annual giving, foundation and grants program, donor and prospect relations, planned giving and other activities designed to build community engagement and secure philanthropic support.
  • Oversight of the Corporate Services Program designed to engage business leaders and employees in the advancement of the Mission through both volunteerism and philanthropic support.
  • Development of an integrated Marketing and Communications Plan to increase awareness of HfHCC to its various constituencies, and strengthen the position of HfHCC in the community.

The Director of Development & Marketing is a member of the senior team, reporting to the Executive Director and working directly with the Board of Directors, Campaign Cabinet, and the Development & Marketing Committee. This professional will represent HfHCC in the community, working with key stakeholders, philanthropic and community leaders, groups and organizations and the media to build and sustain relationships integral to the support of current programs and long-term sustainability of the mission.
