Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA

The Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, under the direction of and in cooperation with the Vice President of Financial Development, is responsible for ensuring the thoughtful, detailed and successful strategy for major gifts and planned giving development prospects and the achievement of short and long term goals by developing and leading a comprehensive major gifts program to include planned giving and endowment campaigns.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Office environment with some exposure to noise.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information and to convey detailed, spoken instructions to staff, members, and volunteers accurately, quickly, and loudly; ability to perceive the nature of sounds by ear; ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; ability to lift up to 25 pounds

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in fund and major gift development.
  • Knowledge of traditional and emerging YMCA programs.
  • Demonstrated ability in fiscal management.
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging tools in the development industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills in designing and implementing multiple projects, setting priorities and deadlines and ensuring program accountability.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
  • Acquire and maintain the following certifications:
  • CPR Pro/AED/O2 (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
  • First Aid (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
  • Requisite Redwoods Online Trainings (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
