Posted by Green Woods Charter School on June 30, 2020
Green Woods Charter School (GWCS) provides children in grades K through 8 with the opportunity to be active, knowledgeable, and conscientious young investigators by fostering a keen understanding of the interrelatedness and interdependence of our local and global existence; creating active young stewards of the natural world. GWCS serves children primarily in the Roxborough catchment area of Philadelphia.
The Director of Development and Communication is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of GWCS’ fundraising and communication strategy, including but not limited to cultivation and solicitation of donors, fundraising events and initiatives, and grant and report writing. He/She will be able to effectively communicate with donors, parents, teachers, alumni, GWCS constituents and others orally through one-on-one meetings and phone calls, presentations, building relationships with prospective donors, program directors at foundations and during GWCS events and in writing (grant applications, correspondences with constituents, reports to donors). The Director should be a confident and able writer and communicator and be a stickler for details relative to everything from branding and communications to the maintenance of constituent databases. The Director reports to the CEO.
