Development Associate, AIM Academy

AIM Academy, a school for children who learn differently, is seeking a full time Development Associate. Since its launch in 2006, AIM has become one of the fastest growing private schools and teacher training centers in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Development Associate
This position is designed to serve as a learning and training experience, structured to grow the talent of the Development Associate such that they are prepared to be competitive as candidates for development coordinator positions with Annual Giving, Capital Campaigns, Stewardship and Scholarships. The candidate provides support for all development, event and communication functions. This is a full time, 12 month non-exempt position with an anticipated start date of September 8th.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Assist Director of Institutional Advancement and Development team with the Annual Fund, Capital Campaign, Grants, Annual Reports, Thank You Letters, etc.
● Serve as Veracross Donor Database Administrator for Development: entering and tracking asks, pledges, donations and gift transmittal notifications.
● Responsible for the day-to-day fulfillment of prospect research inquiries and requests in support of AIM Academy’s fundraising initiatives.
● Coordinate Special Events including AIM for the Stars Gala & Auction, Race to Read 5K, Commencement, Grandfriends’ Days, AIM’s Research Symposium and Back to School Celebrations.
● Prepare Special Event communications including save the dates, invitations, brochures, program books, solicitations, thank you letters and bulk mailings.
● Event planner for all AIM and non-AIM meetings held on property including purchasing of supplies and event set up, preparation of meeting materials and registration.
● Home and School Association liaison, maintain HSA Calendar.
● Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment and use tact, diplomacy and confidentiality in dealing with members of the AIM community and donors.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
● Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds.
● Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
● May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
● Diversity of workload requires teamwork, flexibility, efficiency, attention to detail, external relations focus, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments.

Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in development or a related field. Strong attention to detail as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Familiarity with Development database systems would be a plus. Must be able to pass background checks and clearances for the following:

● PA State Police Criminal Record Check Clearance ● Federal (FBI) Criminal History Report (Fingerprinting) ● PA Child Abuse History Clearance ● PA School Personnel Health Record
