Credit Path Seminar

Alternatives Federal Credit Union is pleased to invite you to attend its fifth annual Credit Path Seminar for Credit Unions.

Perhaps, when researching better ways to deliver financial services to low and moderate income people, you’ve heard mention of the Credit Path. Or maybe you’ve heard that Alternatives has been an innovator in delivering services to the underserved. If you are interested in learning more about the Credit Path and how Alternatives uses this model for its program development and service targeting, please plan to attend the Credit Path Seminar.

“More than I imagined, the program presented so many useful programs that I want to embrace them all.”

I came hoping to gain knowledge on implementing products to serve our members who only use us to cash checks. My expectations were more than met!

“Excellent presentation from each speaker…I can think of nothing that was not of value.”

“Binder contains tons of great info, documents, URLs, etc.”

“Excellent learning opportunity – having individual staff present the programs they are involved with is terrific.”

“It was great to see the enthusiasm and passion of your staff!”

We use the Credit Path to identify members? needs and build services for them, and move members towards financial security, no matter what their economic situation. We have created a two day event to share our work with our peers. Through presentations and peer to peer dialogue our seminar will help you extend services to people of modest means in your community.

The seminar includes an overview of Alternatives’ strategic approach, organizational structure, and program development. Break out sessions will allow participants to study programs that most interest them. Topics follow the stages of the Credit Path, progressing from Transactor to Saver, to Borrower and ultimately, to Owner. We describe how we deliver our more traditional services as well as discussing our Financial Education programs, Business Services, Student Credit Union, Individual Development Accounts and Free Tax Preparation. The seminar includes a tour of the community that gives participants the chance to meet Alternatives? members and see how our work translates into action.
