Join a vibrant community that is committed to excellence through diversity. West Chester University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Multicultural Student Recruitment. This is a permanent, 12 month position reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
? Leads the Office of Admissions in developing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of multicultural student recruitment and yield activities
? Evaluating admissions applications and making admissions decisions
? Building relationships with high school counselors and community organizations and leaders who assist in out-reach to multicultural students and their families
? Visiting high schools and representing the university at college day/night programs and regional and national fairs
? Planning campus visitations for high schools, community organizations, applicants and accepted multicultural students
? Conducting interviews, group sessions, on-line chats, phon-a-thons, and handling phone calls and correspondences
? Actively work with the Black Student Union, Latino American Student Organization, Office of Multicultural Affairs and other organizations on campus organizing a recruitment team of currently enrolled WCU students to assist in recruitment and yield initiatives.
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor?s degree, a minimum of two years of professional experience in higher education admissions or a related field, and a valid driver?s license. Excellent organizational and communication skills, specific experience in recruiting multicultural students, involvement with Latino and African American community organizations and fluency in Spanish are preferred.
The starting salary for this position is $37,242 and includes an excellent benefits package including undergraduate tuition fee waiver for self and dependents. Applicants must successfully complete the interview process to be considered a finalist.
