General Description:

Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition, Inc. (SEAMAAC) welcomes applications for the part-time position of Continuum of Care Program Coordinator. SEAMAAC (a nonprofit organization founded in 1984, as the Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Associations Coalition, Inc.) has over 29 years of experience serving and advocating for Philadelphia’s immigrants and refugees. Our mission is “to support immigrants, refugees, and their families as they seek access to opportunities which would advance the condition of their lives in the United States.”Throughout our history, SEAMAAC has worked to bring issues affecting immigrants/refugees to the forefront for policy makers and other service providers, while offering a variety of programs to meet the needs of community members. Currently, our programs include English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, afterschool and summer camps, truancy prevention, domestic violence prevention, elderly services, public benefits, health education, refugee services, and women’s support groups.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary duty of this position is to coordinate services in the Continuum of Care Program (COC), provide day-to-day supervision of Outreach Workers, implement project activities, and manage project data. COC’s goal is to substantially improve the ability of Burmese, Karen, Chin, and Bhutanese/Nepali recently resettled refugee families to move towards independence and stability in the U.S. COC will meet this goal through individual and group-based services including case management, advocacy to increase access to resources, community meetings, economic development workshops, and enrollment in English as a Second Language Classes, job training programs, small business support programs, and employment services.
