Job Opening: Content Creator
16 hours weekly (flexible schedule)
Start date: August 22nd
Pay rate: $12 hourly

As the new content creator for ASPIRA of PA and ASPIRA Schools, you will be helping share the work of hundreds of local teachers, program instructors and local stakeholders making a difference in North Philadelphia. While this is an entry-level position, you’ll have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of local leaders while earning strong experience.

Job responsibilities: Staff member will be responsible for creating content (mostly digital and social media). This includes researching, writing and editing stories, as well as performing very basic graphic design of ASPIRA school/program photos. This position may also include photography work, requiring travel between ASPIRA schools and event locations (travel expenses to be covered by our organization). Proofreading of a variety of written media will also be required.

Requirements: Applicants should possess strong writing skills, fit for both digital and traditional media, in addition to solid grammatical knowledge. Applicants must have completed at least some college study in marketing, advertising, communications or English. No experience in graphic design is needed. Writing samples must be submitted, and you may be asked to complete test work as part of the evaluation process. Staff will be hired based on writing ability, level of education completed and availability.

As this job will require you to work around children, note that you must undergo a vetting process which requires a variety of state and federally mandated background checks. We encourage you to read about our schools and programs before applying. Please send résumé and/or cover letter to ncross@aspirapa.org or by mail to ASPIRA, Inc. of Pennsylvania, 4322 N. 5th St., Philadelphia PA, 19140. Please include a few of your strongest writing samples. These samples need not be published or professional.
