Philadelphia Works is seeking a Chief Operating Officer. Philadelphia Works helps employers find skilled workers and helps job seekers develop the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic leadership in all aspects of workforce development operations. The COO reports to and works closely with the President & CEO, as well as other members of senior leadership. This position monitors the organization’s performance to ensure all required workforce development services are provided in accordance with Federal and State regulations as well as Board directives. The COO manages the organization’s policies and procedures pertaining to compliance with operating guidelines.

A few of the other responsibilities of the COO include: 1) driving operational excellence across all aspects of workforce development programs; 2) leading the design and/or implementation of systems, processes and services that support workforce development in delivering best-in-class programs and outcomes; 3) partnering with the CEO to represent Philadelphia Works with external partners, providers and stakeholders; 4) managing the relationship between Workforce Operations, federal, state and local partners, and stakeholders responsible for administering funded programs and grants, and; 4) working collaboratively with the Compliance Officer to oversee the review, analysis and response to audits and evaluations conducted by multiple agencies and other parties to ensure the quality and continuity of programs and services.

This ideal candidate will have at least 10 years senior level leadership and experience working with a Board of Directors as well as experience in Workforce Development.
