UWSEPA celebrates community champions
United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania will holds its annual Champions for Impact Celebration on Friday, May 21st at the Hyatt Regency on Columbus Blvd.
This year’s event is honors Anthony Conti as United Way’s Volunteer of the Year. Conti is the retired Philadelphia Office Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Other community and corporate volunteers receiving recognition include Carole Haas Gravagno, for her long advocacy for quality parenting education, Fred Dedrick, a longtime leader in the field of workforce development and the new director of the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, and the Center for Applied Research on Aging and Health and Thomas Jefferson University, for its leadership in the development of home-based care for older people.
Catherine Scott, president of AFSCME District Council 47, will receive the Irv Sannit Labor Volunteer Award; Robert Murphy of Assigned Counsel, Inc., and Dianne L. Semingson of DLS International, Inc., will receive the LIVE UNITED Award, and Comcast will be honored with the Partners in Caring Award.
