Celebrating the 26th Amendment

Posted by Students Learn Students Vote Coalition on June 29, 2021

Students Learn Students Vote Coalition’s 26th Amendment Working Group  has new resources to help you celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 26th Amendment. The national anniversary date is July 1st. Here’s what we have lined up:

Check out the brand new 26th Amendment webpage. The page has information and resources for you to celebrate this important anniversary and highlight the unfulfilled promise of the amendment – and all everyone across the student voting space is doing to fulfill that promise – throughout the remainder of the year.

Also check out the Student Voting Bill of Rights – a set of 14 policy priorities that would ensure every eligible college student and young person in the US can vote under fair, equitable and accessible conditions. Here’s some guidance and samples for how you can promote the Student Voting Bill of Rights on social media. This resource comes from the Youth Voting Rights Subcommittee, but given its relevance to the 26th Amendment and recent current events, we thought we’d flag it here as well.

Participate in a Social Media Week of Action (check out the 26th Amendment Communications Toolkit for social posts you can use) and join us for a SLSV Twitter Chat on July 1st (sign up for that here).
