ALL IN Democracy Challenge
Call for Workshops: Pennsylvania Student Voting Summit – due Dec 6
I’m inviting you to the 1st Annual Pennsylvania Student Voting Summits. There will be a summit in Philadelphia and one in Pittsburgh. You can attend the summit that best fits your scheduling and geographic needs. Registration links are below.
Date: February 15, 2019
Location: University of Pittsburgh
Date: February 22nd, 2019
Location: University of Pennsylvania
Please join us for an opportunity for colleges and universities across Pennsylvania to come together to learn and connect on issues surrounding nonpartisan democratic engagement with a focus on student voting.
We encourage campuses to send a team including student leaders, faculty, staff, and administrators to develop or update an action plan that institutionalizes nonpartisan democratic engagement on campus.
Campus teams and representatives will:
Reflect on the previous democratic engagement efforts of their own and other campuses;
Gain practical knowledge on how to institutionalize democratic engagement efforts;
Learn about the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) at the Institute for Democracy & Higher Education at Tufts University and how to participate and receive campus voter engagement data; and
Have the opportunity to develop or update their campus democratic engagement action plan.
It is encouraged that campuses have multiple members from their democratic engagement planning team attend the summit together. If your campus has a democratic engagement action plan and/or NSLVE reports.
If you are interested in presenting about democratic engagement during a 30-45 minute breakout session, complete this presentation proposal by December 6.
Until then, please follow the event page on Facebook and extend this invitation to other interested parties in your network!
Please direct all summit questions to Ryan Drysdale, Assistant Director of Campus Partnerships at the ALL IN Challenge, at email@example.com.
