IMPACT: National Student Conference on Service, Advocacy & Social Action

March 6-8, 2009
University of Maryland, University College
Adelphi, MD (Just outside of Washington, DC)

Call for Workshops

Join college students, administrators, faculty, national nonprofit organizations, and many others this spring in our nation’s Capitol for the largest national convening of campus community members involved in service, activism, politics, advocacy, and other socially responsible work across philosophical and ideological lines.

Following the historic 2008 election and set against the backdrop of Washington, DC, this event is the 25th anniversary of the legacy set forth by the C.O.O.L. Conference and the Idealist Campus Conference.  Following in those footsteps, IMPACT is an opportunity to connect with other campuses, learn from their best practices, and share your campus’ experiences in working toward social change.

To make this conference successful, we need people like you—nonprofits, students, campus administrators, and community leaders engaged in service, advocacy and social action—to submit proposals for workshops.

The IMPACT Conference aims to offer a diverse array of workshops connected to the broad themes of service, activism, and social justice. Submit your ideas today for a workshop, panel, or discussion about your work in one of the seven topics below. This conference is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other campuses, learn from their best practices, and share your campus’ experiences in working toward social change.

* Action (Service)
* Connecting Action and the Classroom (Service-Learning)
* The Politics of Your Work (Politics, Policy, and Advocacy)
* Changing the World 3.0 (Technology)
* Taking on the Issues (Issue-Based Workshops)
* Leading Your Work (Management and Skill-Based Workshops)
* Administrator-Focused (Admin)

Submit your workshop proposal TODAY! Check out our website at http://www.impactconference.org/workshops.

THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 2009.

Questions—contact Sean Conner or Regina Fuller at workshops@impactconference.org.
