Call for Workshops: HIV Prevention and Outreach Summit

Posted by Philadelphia FIGHT on February 16, 2015

I am emailing to encourage you to consider submitting a Workshop Proposal for this year’s HIV Prevention and Outreach Summit which will be held during the END AIDS 2015 Conference on Monday, June 8th in Philadelphia at the Convention Center during the 21st Annual AIDS Education Month.

The Prevention and Outreach Summit has become the premier conference in Philadelphia to discuss innovative HIV prevention and outreach strategies both locally and beyond and to develop new collaborations to work toward ending the epidemic. Over 1,000 people attended last year’s conference. The Prevention and Outreach Summit covers a wide range of topics and often includes expertise outside of AIDS service organizations to the wider social service and academic worlds to address underlying issues such as housing, addiction, or mental health to name a few.

Remember: we love to see workshops that include people living with HIV and that include individuals from different organizations with different perspectives.

The deadline for submitting your proposal is Monday, March 2, 2015 at midnight. They must be submitted electronically through an online form on the AIDS Education Month website. The online form is open and ready to receive submissions – click here to submit!

The Prevention Summit Committee will be selecting an initial 20 workshops to be presented. Not all submissions will result in a workshop at the Prevention and Outreach Summit. The committee may ask that you modify your workshop or that you combine your knowledge and expertise into a panel with others.

Please feel free to contact Juliet Fink Yates or Jennifer Wright, AIDS Education Month Coordinator at jjfink@fight.org or jwright@fight.org with any questions that you have about submitting a workshop. We look forward to your ideas!
