2017 CIVIC LEARNING AND DEMOCRATIC ENGAGEMENT MEETING ORGANIZED BY ADP, TDC, AND NASPA

June 8-10, 2017
Baltimore Waterfront Marriott * Baltimore, Maryland

Pre-conference sessions will be available on June 7, 2017, at an additional cost.

The 2017 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement Meeting (CLDE17) is a conference designed around an emergent theory of change adapted from elements of the 2012 Crucible Moment report. Like this report, the CLDE17 conference invites participants to consider what does a civic-minded campus look like? To this end, several threads within the civic engagement movement will be considered including, how to build campus cultures and contexts that foster:

  • civic ethos,
  • civic literacy and skill building,
  • civic inquiry,
  • civic action, and
  • civic agency.

When submitting a proposal for this year’s conference consider how these threads intersect with your work whether it be around assessment, political engagement, community partnerships, service-learning, dialogue and deliberation, and so forth.

Program Submission Deadline: January 30, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. EST

Notification of Program Status: March 9, 2017
