Integrating the Arts: Building Literacy and Content Knowledge Skills Across the K-12 Curriculum

PAEP is asking participating arts organizations to develop experiential workshops for teachers K-12 on integrating the arts to build literacy skills across the curriculum. These workshops will be delivered in the morning and in the afternoon. Workshops will be 90 minutes long. This conference is open to all arts teachers, general elementary classroom teachers, and middle and high school teachers from the five-county area including the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Content of workshops should provide experiences that teachers can take back to their classrooms including ways to incorporate literacy whether it is linked to an art form or integrated into curriculum such as reading, science, math, or social studies. Workshops can also be geared toward a particular population such as special needs students or high school English students.

Because time is short, PAEP would appreciate a prompt response that includes: name of the arts organization, workshop title, names of those teaching the workshop, and a two-sentence description of what will occur. If you have any questions, please contact Raye Cohen, rcohen@uarts.edu or 215-717-6055.
