Attention Community Partners in Urban Health!

We need at least 150 of you to join us in Toronto!

Increasingly over the last decade, advocacy organizations, community-based organizations and funders are calling for an approach to health research that recognizes the crucial role that communities can play in deepening our understanding of urban health issues. As a result, participatory models of research, in which communities are actively engaged in the research process through partnerships with academic institutions, have become more and more common in the urban health field.

The 4th International Conference on Urban Health is responding to this renewed focus and is proud to announce that we will be showcasing community-based participatory urban health research through a special conference stream. In our desire to bridge academic and community perspectives in urban health research, we will welcome submissions for brief research presentations, skills-building workshops and panel discussions highlighting CBPR in the urban context.

This year?s conference theme is ?Achieving Social Justice in Urban Communities? and we believe that goal can only be achieved if community partners are in attendance.

We have also created a special registration fee for community partners and have made some additional scholarships available for those travelling from afar.

Our goal is to ensure that at least 150 of the attendees this year represent the communities that our research is focussed on.

Please join us in Toronto!
