AAC&U’s 2019 Network for Academic Renewal conference on General Education and Assessment invites colleagues from all areas of the higher education landscape to join us in sharing efforts to create intentional and integrated programs, to assess current practices, and to generate evidence of high-quality learning within educational experiences for all students.

AAC&U strongly encourages proposals that balance conceptual and theoretical frameworks with concrete, pragmatic examples; that highlight the “hows” and “whys” of a practice, strategy, or 21st-century model for achieving integrated and intentional designs for general education; and that showcase mature evidence of quality learning through general education programs. Proposals should address how the work can be adapted in a wide range of other institutional types, including community colleges, research-intensive institutions, and minority-serving institutions.

Priority will be given to proposals that reflect diverse perspectives, innovations, disciplines, and programmatic areas. We particularly welcome student perspectives.

As stated in the conference description, “There is an emerging—and necessary—revolution occurring within general education. This revolution is led not by higher education “disruptors” intent on breaking apart existing systems, but by innovators creating intentional, coherent, engaging, and integrated educational experiences.”

Please review the conference overview and call for proposals for detailed information and instructions. We look forward to reviewing your proposals and seeing you in San Francisco in February.
