From Doreen Loury:

I hope you will join us as we celebrate the annual conference of the Association of Black Women in Higher Education, October 18 – 20, 2017 in Philadelphia, PA. The theme this year is Sister Power 2017: “Lift as We Climb” – A Right, A Responsibility, A Privilege… Please join us in supporting and empowering sister scholars, staff and students to secure our presence and prosperity for generations to come. You don’t want to miss the legendary author, poet, and activist, Sonia Sanchez; leader in community health advocacy and theologian, Rev. Lorina Marshall-Blake; and Dr. Sarah Willie-LeBreton author of “Acting Black: College, Identity and the Performance of Race” and “Transforming the Academy: Faculty Perspectives on Diversity and Pedagogy.” You certainly don’t want to miss the trip to the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture and our salute to Women Veterans in the Academy. More than anything, you don’t want to miss the networking and community building of our fellowship and sisterhood!

Additionally, ABWHE has started a blog the web address is: It is called “Lift as We Climb!”
