Call for Presenters: Summer Changes Everything™ National Conference

Posted by on April 23, 2012

We are excited to announce that the 2012 Summer Changes Everything™ National Conference will be held October 22-24, 2012 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Check http://www.summerlearning.org regularly for updates and registration. You can also learn more about what Pittsburgh has to offer for your conference trip by visiting the city’s visitor’s bureau at http://www.visitpittsburgh.com.

This year’s conference theme is Expanding the Pool: Reaching More Kids Effectively. Community-based summer learning programs face challenges in funding and in getting the word out about the benefits of their programs. Meanwhile, school district leaders face significant barriers to creating and retaining full-day programs that integrate academics and engagement for best results. This year’s conference will give programs the resources and information they need to address these issues and more.
Call for National Conference Presentations

The National Summer Learning Association is seeking proposals for outstanding workshops (http://www.summerlearning.org/?page=conferenceworkshops) for the 2012 Summer Changes Everything™ National Conference that will enable the growing field of summer learning professionals to build, strengthen, and expand life-changing summer programs for all young people, emphasizing not only innovative instructional techniques, but ways to leverage and message those techniques to attract students and support.

The deadline for presentation submissions is Friday, May 11, 2012. CLICK HERE for more information on presentation guidelines and how to submit proposals.

The conference draws more than 500 practitioners, program providers, policy makers, school district officials, and researchers from across the country.
