Call for Papers: Federal Reserve 11th Annual Policy Summit

Posted by on January 21, 2013

The Federal Reserve Banks of Cleveland and Philadelphia invite paper submissions for their 11th annual Policy Summit, to be held September 19-20, 2013, in Cleveland, Ohio. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners interested in economic policy and development in low- and moderate-income communities.

Understanding the potential intended and unintended effects of regulations is critical for their success as policy implementation tools. For this reason, the focus of this year’s conference is on consumer finances and the new regulatory environment. We encourage the submission of papers in the areas of household balance sheets, consumer finances, the regulation of consumer financial products and consumer financial markets, consumer and small business lending, the role of information disclosure and consumer education, low income housing, student loans and related topics. Policy-related research and submissions applicable to the Federal Reserve’s Third and Fourth Districts and the Great Lakes region are encouraged.

The annual Policy Summit draws an audience of several hundred elected officials, researchers, practitioners, bankers, funders, and policymakers from across the Great Lakes region and the Northeast. Travel and accommodation expenses per Federal Reserve guidelines will be covered for presenters.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 29, 2013. Please submit an extended abstract or draft of your research paper by this date to policysummit@clev.frb.org. Conference papers will be due on Thursday, September 5, 2013. In addition, please let us know how you heard about this request. Questions about the call for papers or the Policy Summit can be directed to Tim Dunne at tim.dunne@clev.frb.org or Francisca G.-C. Richter at francisca.g.richter@clev.frb.org.
