Are you an undergraduate, graduate or medical student interested in global health?

Are you engaged in research, policy & advocacy initiatives related to global health?

If so, the Global Health Council invites you to submit an abstract for the New Investigators in Global Health Program.

Winning abstract submissions illustrating excellence, innovation and/or influence on a specific global health issue will be invited to present in a panel or poster session at the 33rd Annual International Conference on Global Health.

A scholarship package will be awarded to authors of selected abstracts to assist with travel and accommodation expenses. Scholarship support is provided to invited presenters through the generosity of the Council’s distinguished university members.

Not only is this a unique professional development and networking opportunity, but it also provides the opportunity to share your knowledge and results with more than 1,500 colleagues at one of the leading global health gatherings.

New Investigators in Global Health Program
The Global Health Council recently initiated a program to identify and highlight exemplary research and projects of student leaders and new professionals in global health. Launched at the Global Health Council’s 2005 conference, the New Investigators in Global Health Program is a competitive abstract review process open to all undergraduate, graduate and medical students engaging in research, policy and advocacy initiatives relating to global health. Winners will be invited to present in either a panel, or poster session and, thanks to the generosity of sponsoring universities, will receive a scholarship to attend the full International Conference on Global Health in 2006, inclusive of registration fee, accommodation and travel stipend.

The Global Health Council recognizes the importance of and value in promoting the professional development of student leaders in the field of global health and will offer New Investigators in Global Health Program networking opportunities, receptions and career-related events at the conference. All students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (verification will be required) and engaged in global health work that fulfills the criteria of the Call for Abstracts are highly encouraged to submit an abstract for the New Investigators in Global Health Program.
