REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 2017-2019 COHORT

The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation and The Barra Foundation are supporting six nonprofit organizations to receive evaluation training and consultation from The Consultation Center at Yale starting in Fall 2017.

The six organizations will receive two years training and consultation in practical program evaluation skills to track program processes and outcomes, and to communicate effectively about evaluation and quality assurance data. The training and consultation include:

  • an overview of program evaluation and its use in organizations;
  • an introduction to logic models and their uses in evaluation;
  • assisting organizations to identify program evaluation needs, goals, methods, and measures most appropriate for their program; and
  • helping organizations identify organizational capacities and barriers to program evaluation capacity and sustainability.

In the first two years (Fall 2017-Summer 2019), the organizations will be provided with a combination of group training and individual consultation as follows:

  • group training of four (4) half-days with up to three (3) staff per organization in the Fall, Winter, and Spring of year one;
  • individual consultation and technical assistance in each year for up to eight (8) staff to supplement group sessions for a total of three (3) individual sessions of up to two (2) hours each per organization;
  • a combination of two (2) group trainings and three (3) individual on-site consultations in year two; and
  • ongoing phone and email consultation tailored to individual organization needs.

Upon completion of the first two years, participating organizations have the opportunity to join the Greater Philadelphia Evaluation Learning Collaborative. In the Collaborative, organizations participate by signing up for individualized, online office hours available every two weeks as well as attendance at regular webinar trainings and consultation. Webinars provide a forum for training, consultation, and resource sharing, with materials maintained in a password protected Dropbox folder which Collaborative members are able to access as needed.
