May 18 ? National League of Cities’ Institute for Youth, Education, and Families hosts Audioconference on Asset Building Strategies

This free audioconference, titled ?Building Assets: What Cities Can Do to Help Low-Income Working Families,? on Thurs., May 18, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) will highlight municipal strategies to educate families about financial choices, such as savings and homeownership, and protect them from predatory lending and other wealth-stripping practices. Speakers will include representatives from large and small cities that have initiated or supported financial education and legislation to combat predatory lending.
