LISC is the nation?s leading community development financial intermediary, working with community-based development corporations (CDCs) to rebuild neighborhoods. LISC assists CDCs in their efforts to transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy communities and supports CDCs as they develop affordable housing, vital commercial facilities, and job-creating projects. By helping CDCs to engage in a range of physical, economic and human development activities, LISC helps neighborhoods revitalize themselves. LISC has local offices in 38 program areas around the country, and its headquarters is located in New York City. The LISC Philadelphia Program began operations in 1981. Since its inception $200 million have been invested in neighborhood redevelopment projects resulting in the creation and rehabilitation of over 5,000 units of housing and 1.3 million SF of commercial and community facilities space.

Position Responsibilities
? Research and develop funding leads
? Write funding proposals
? Cultivate relationships with funders
? Prepare reports for funders
? Track funding sources and uses and production information
? Manage the Philadelphia Program newsletter
? Manage other LISC Philadelphia public relations activities
? Assist CDCs in developing and implementing public relations events that enhance the image of LISC and LISC funders
? Assist in any other aspects of implementing the fundraising and communications strategies of LISC Philadelphia
? Assist the Program Director on local, State and national policy and advocacy ? Help coordinate training seminars for CDCs
? The Program Assistant will report to the Philadelphia Program Director and will work closely with other Philadelphia and New York staff in charge of development, communications, accounting and reporting.

? Strong interest in the community development field
? Excellent writing and verbal skills
? Ability to analyze data
? Prefer candidates who know the Philadelphia area and community development funders
? Prefer candidates familiar with basic accounting
? Masters Degree in related field or equivalent experience
? Skills in Microsoft or comparable computer applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and/or Access)
? Strong interpersonal skills in working with a wide variety of people and organizations.
