Community Concern #13 Multi-Purpose Learning Center is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide: 1) quality early childhood educational services that focus on the social/emotional wellbeing of its students, 2) nutritious meals to ensure a foundation of life-long healthy eating habits, 3) a personal based curriculum, and, 4) opportunities to involve parents in all aspects of their children’s development. Located in the Brewerytown/Strawberry Mansion/Sharswood section of North Philadelphia, Community Concern #13 has earned and maintains a Keystone STARS 3 rating, and provides Pre-K Counts programming. The center offers care for infants through school-age children. Approximately 100 children attend Community Concern #13 daily.

Community Concern #13 completed a facility renovation and program expansion in 2016 and is scheduled to expand again soon. The Assistant Director is a new position designed to support the Director in successfully managing growth.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the educational programs and family engagement services. The Assistant Director will manage all educational staff including teachers, teaching assistants, school-age coordinators, camp staff and transportation staff. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the collection, maintenance, and updating of child/family records consistent with quality standards, regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.

Successful Assistant Director candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Elementary Education, have at least two years of classroom teaching experience with young children, and have at least two years of experience supervising staff.
