Art Teacher, Educators 4 Education

Educators 4 Education (E4E) out-of-school time program for youth, kindergarten through 8th grade in Southwest Philadelphia, is looking to hire a passionate and experienced art teacher. All candidates should have a minimum (2) years of experience working with youth in an urban education setting.

Description of duties is as follows:
Teacher will work two days a week, Monday- Friday 4 to 6 pm, to provide art instruction of up to approximately 15 children each class. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing interest and ability for creative expression in each student through the use of visual terms, skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines. Candidate will also develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations within pupils, and discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.

Educational Requirements:
Art teachers who instruct in our out-of-school time program may not need to have any formal education in the field. In lieu of formal training, teachers are required to demonstrate their understanding of various art mediums, display talent to create and ability to teach skills to others. Professional artists may be able to substitute extensive experience for a degree. The employer for this program is Educators 4 Education for which you will be a contracted employee once hired. As an E4E contracted employee, you will be required to attend a mandatory orientation. Preference is given to candidates who live or work in the southwest Philadelphia community.
