Art, music, and exercise/movement facilitators

Posted on: August 25, 2011

We are looking for dynamic individuals to facilitate our craft room, music room, and exercise/movement/sports room at The Friendship Circle! Facilitators must be able to quickly adapt activities for children and teenagers with a variety of special needs through multiple sensory activities that engage both the child individually, as well as the group as a whole.

The Friendship Circle is a nonprofit organization providing social outlets and support for children with special needs and their families in the Jewish community. At Sunday Circle, the children are paired with teen volunteers and enjoy music, movement, art, and other activities. Sunday Circle meets twelve Sundays on the Main Line over the course of the school year. Because facilitators would be designing their own activities that align to the week’s curriculum, familiarity with the Jewish culture, customs, and community would be very helpful, though not required.

Since our group meets infrequently (as compared to a daily program), we are looking for facilitators to have a strong, outgoing presence to help compensate for the children’s unfamiliarity with the activity and each other.

Please send your resume and cover letter to hmushock@phillyfriendship.com if interested in this position.
