Posted on April 16, 2019

This free event, which is a celebration of exemplar equity practices in and across school boundaries, will occur on Thursday, April 25, 2019, 5:30pm-7:30pm, Cabrini University, Grace Hall, 610 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, Pa 19087.

The 2019 Shirley Dixon Keynote Speaker is Dr. Sonya Douglass Horsford, who is an acclaimed Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University and one of the leading scholars in the nation pertaining to the politics of race, education policy, and urban school leadership in the post-Civil Rights Era. Additionally, Dr. Horsford engages critical race theory and critical policy analysis to study the paradoxes and contradictions inherent to equity and social justice discourses absent Black knowledge claims, experiences, and research perspectives. This year’s theme is: Surface Level Solutions are Unacceptable: Getting to the Root of the Problem.
