Amy’s Fund offers small domestic violence grant

Domestic violence shelters can apply for funding from Amy’s Courage Fund to alleviate the financial constraints that often prevent a victim of domestic violence from escaping abuse.

The fund, sponsored by the National Network to End Domestic Violence, provides emergency financial assistance of up to $2,000 each to victims of domestic violence and their children to meet their immediate needs after escaping an abusive home.

Funds may be used to for moving and transportation costs associated with escaping abuse; rent and security deposits for new, safe homes; utilities; medical expenses; legal fees and expenses for filing for protective orders, custody agreements and divorces; car repairs and transportation needs; and furniture, appliances, clothing and other household goods.
