Become an AmeriCorps VISTA with the City of Philadelphia. There are over 60,000 Lawful Permanent Residents in Philadelphia who are eligible for citizenship, according to national immigration groups. The VISTA will help design and implement a program where residents have resources available to them to outline the path to citizenship in their language while also educating future citizens on the structure and functions of government. This would empower residents to become more civically engaged and understand what their government does for them.
