Centro Nueva Creaci?n is a multi-service youth and family center located in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia. Our mission is to build hope in our community by creating opportunities for youth and families to transform their community. We achieve this aim by implementing programs in education, service, career development, technology and the arts.

Program Description:
Centro Nueva Creaci?n?s After-School Program provides academic, social and cultural enrichment through homework help, literacy programs, arts classes and recreational activities. The program runs from 3-6pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional full-day and half-day sessions in accordance with the school district?s schedule. The population we serve is predominately Latino/a and from families of low to very-low income.

Job Description:
The After-School Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day running of an after-school program for 50 youth in grades K-8. Duties include curriculum and program development; coordinating outreach to parents and community; supervision, support, training and development of counselors and volunteers for the program; behavior management and enforcement of policies. The program director reports directly to the executive director.

This is a part-time position (20-25 hours/week).

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Creative, enthusiastic and able to multi-task
Committed to youth development, especially in urban, high-need communities
Teaching experience useful
Bilingual candidates (spanish/english) highly encouraged to apply
