7th Annual Principal for a Day

Posted by on October 27, 2008

Education provides the foundation for a productive life; it is also the foundation of every great city.

On November 12th, 2008 Greater Philadelphia Cares, in partnership with The School District of Philadelphia, will present the 7th Annual Principal for a Day.

On behalf of Honorary Co-Chairs the Honorable Michael A. Nutter and Robert Bowman, Regional Managing Director of Merrill Lynch, Greater Philadelphia Cares warmly invites you to be a Principal for a Day.

As a Principal for a Day, you will be part of a distinguished group of business and community leaders who spend their morning shadowing a hard-working principal.   Promoting private-public partnerships is the goal of this unique opportunity to go behind the headlines. The exchange of ideas and expertise is an essential element of a vibrant school system that serves our children well. You will meet students and see first hand the rewards and challenges that an urban school district deals with every day.

You will be inspired and you will be moved.

Principal for a Day will take place from 8:30am-2:30pm on November 12th, 2008. You will spend the morning accompanying your host principal on their daily rounds, talking to students and faculty, and sharing ideas. This adventure will be followed by a luncheon at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia that same day, from 1:00pm until 2:30pm.  Featured speakers will include Fran Dunphy, Head Coach, Temple University Men’s Basketball;  the North Philadelphia All-Star Choir will also perform.

To participate, simply complete a Count Us In form — click here– and return to frankie@gpcares.com or fax to 215-564-4543.

Truly,
