VISTA Leader, PHENND

PHENND (The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development) is a consortium of over 25 colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The consortium actively seeks to revitalize local communities and promote civic responsibility through service learning among the region’s higher education institutions. As part of our K-16 Partnerships Network, the PHENND VISTA project represents a sixth year of partnership with the School District of Philadelphia to expand the infrastructure for community partnership development across Philadelphia.
Member Duties : Candidate MUST have one year of previous AmeriCorps experience (VISTA is preferred)

1)Help the VISTA Manager to set agendas for monthly trainings, plan and facilitate monthly meetings and support the professional development of VISTAs

2)Conduct regular phone calls and in-person meetings with VISTAs at their school/District sites, provide support to VISTAs in managing conflicts, and help track needs/goals of VISTAs

3)Revise and edit monthly progress report surveys on Qualtrics and distribute the report to cohort. Aggregate survey responses and support the Program Manager in writing quarterly and yearly reports.

4) Manage distribution of transportation passes and completion of transportation logs. Assist in drafting of job descriptions for the 2018-19 year

5)Assist with the vetting of resumes, scheduling and interviewing of VISTA candidates for the upcoming year

The VISTA Leader will be able and encouraged to pursue professional development and project interests as approved by PHENND.
