Community Nutrition Coordinator
The Food Trust is a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. Headquartered in Philadelphia, The Food Trust works with neighborhoods, schools, grocers, farmers and policymakers across the country to develop a comprehensive approach to improved food access that combines nutrition education and greater availability of affordable, healthy food. The Community Nutrition Coordinator will implement PEACH nutrition education programming in schools, food access and community site, reaching pre-school, school age and adult audience in identified community. This position will effectively communicate nutrition objectives. The Community Nutrition Education Coordinator will implement programming and serve as a resource to participants by sharing techniques, strategies, best practice and practical nutrition tips for the participants.

Responsibilities include:
 Identifying community sites to host nutrition education classes
 Establishing and fostering relationships with residents, community members/ partners within assigned community with educational sites, community sites, food access sites and other identified resources that work with the SNAP eligible population.
 Conducting outreach to promote nutrition education programs and recruit for upcoming classes
 Providing effective nutrition education programs for SNAP eligible participants to promote healthy food choices utilizing facilitated group dialogue and other evidence-based approaches.
 Provide nutrition education lessons at a variety of sites including but not limited to educational sites, community centers, places of worship, food pantries, corner stores, farmers’ markets, supermarkets, health centers, housing developments, and other identified sites.

Qualifications: BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study. Two year of related work experience teaching/working with adults and bilingual Spanish proficiency. The ideal candidate will also have the following characteristics: a style that promotes collaboration and communication;
